Change of management and addition to the PfB team

At the beginning of the second half of the year, there was a forward-looking change in the management of the PfB. From 1 July, Andreas Nerz took over the management of the institute and Dr Daniel Rüdiger Müller became his deputy. In addition, the PfB team has grown with new specialists.

Andreas Nerz was already familiarised with the various tests, including the preparation of documents and expert reports, by Rüdiger Müller at the Door Technology + Burglary Protection Testing Institute (= PTE Rosenheim) as a trainee after his eight-semester studies at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences. He has been a man of the first hour, so to speak, since the founding of PfB GmbH & Co. Prüfzentrum für Bauelemente KG with Arno Urban, Matthias Demmel and Rüdiger Müller. Andreas Nerz was instrumental in the design and conception of the first new test hall. He is familiar with all areas of testing and is always fully committed to the team and customers. With his decades of experience, he has acquired outstanding expertise in testing, from which customers – as well as the PfB team – benefit on a daily basis.

He has been Deputy Director of the institute alongside Rüdiger Müller since 2017. Now that he can look back on a quarter of a century in testing, it is a particular pleasure for us that he is taking over the management of the institute following Peter Mayer’s departure. Peter Mayer has decided to take on new challenges in the field of certification and we wish him every success.

Since the departure of Rüdiger Müller last year, his son Dr Daniel Rüdiger Müller has taken over organisational activities as an authorised signatory and is responsible for the PfB’s communication in addition to personnel management.

Even in these crisis-ridden times, the PfB is looking forward to continuing to grow and has been able to recruit Dirk Jakob as the new head of special audits. Timo Nerz also joined the team on 1 June for standardisation work. We will also be increasing our staff in the areas of burglary and building acoustics this year.

The PfB team is optimistic about the future and is looking forward to the next quarter of a century of testing together with its customers!
