Prüfzentrum für Bauelemente

PfB is a leading competence center for testing construction elements such as doors, gates, windows, facades, grilles, roller shutters and their fittings.

In addition to tests in the areas of safety, climate/weather, energy and usability, the PfB team is happy to take on the challenge of developing individual test stands for special tests. The PfB is recognized as an accredited and notified testing and certification body.

Rüdiger Müller laid the foundations for today’s test center back in 1983. Despite its constant expansion, it remains true to its guiding principle of providing individual and cost-effective support for testing projects. To this end, PfB benefits from the many years of experience and expertise of its employees as well as a comprehensive infrastructure.

For large building elements, there is a 6 × 8 m façade test stand, two 6 × 6 m and 6 × 9 m test stands for smoke protection, a 6 × 9 m test stand for the verification of air permeability, driving rain tightness and behavior under wind load, as well as two 4 × 4 m test stands. In addition to the extensive testing options, PfBcert also carries out monitoring and
certifications.

PfB shares its expert knowledge through the publication of specialist literature, seminars and expert opinions. It actively participates in the current specialist discourse in cooperation with research and educational institutions. Not least thanks to cooperation agreements with other institutes, the PfB is able to provide competent and comprehensive support for testing projects and carry them out cost-effectively. In particular, the cooperation with the DMT Group in the field of fire protection enables the PfB to offer a comprehensive testing portfolio.
