Release capability
Emergency exit locks and panic locks fitted to external doors on escape routes must comply with EN 179, EN 1125, prEN 13633 or prEN 13637.
Testing
According to DIN 18055:2014-11, the function of doors equipped with such locks must have been tested with a continuous function test in accordance with DIN EN 1191 and classified in accordance with DIN EN 12400 or DIN EN 14600.
According to the respective state building regulations, structures must be designed in such a way that the rescue of people and animals is possible. To this end, doors in escape routes must be able to be opened easily and to their full width from the inside at any time. A declaration of ‘capability for release’ is not required there.
